so... what can our s4's actually beat in a race?

I haven’t written in here in a while but here is an update. I recently raced 3 awesome cars and was surprised with the outcome. First I raced a stg3 s4. Cool guy I think he is on the boards. We raced on the highway (I84) it was at least 3-4am so the highway was DEAD. We did 3 pulls the first pull was at 80mph and he pulled on me by about 1 car length. I was using 4th gear and I would bog a little at the beginning so I started using 3rd gear. In my car 3rd gear pulls EXTREMELY hard. it is chipped (GIAC) so 3rd gear brings me from 70mph to a little over 100mph. long story short me and this stg3 b5 s4 pulled twice more and we were dead even, lol. It was awesome. We pulled then over and he was talking to me for a little, he told me his car was running a little rich. I believe him though a stg 3 should slaughter us. RIGHT?

Well anyway I raced a stg 2 b5 s4. This damn car was way faster than the stg 3 I raced. He is a member of audizine and he goes to my school. his numbers were (320wtq and 280 whp). We ran MAD times. Basically he would always pull on me if we started in 2nd gear (70mph) but if we kept it in the 70-90mph range I would actually pull on him. It was crazy.

Then I raced some douche in a 335i, lol. It was my cousin. It was fast and it was a manual transmission, but again in 3rd gear pulls he couldn’t touch me. That car was so quiet. worst exhaust note ever. <---- im just hating CuZ those cars are so hot.

there was another stg 2 b5 s4. he had hybrid turbos. i have no clue what that is never the less his car was also fast, but once we would get up into higher gears, his car would just fall back. he said it was because his car was not lowered, and mine is, so i have less drag. He seriously told me that. lol.


basically what im trying to say is if you are gonna race. our s4's make most of the power in 3rd gear. i forgot who it was on these boards who said he raced a Ferrari in 3rd gear and beat him. at first i didnt believe him, but now i do.

lol, one more race. i actually got my ass handed to me. it was an 04'dodge neon srt-4. he had 4 people in the car including him. he pulled on me by about 3 car lenths. i didnt really care because he was driving a neon. lol

yeah i know. my friend has a stg 3 s4 i never raced him but that fvckin' car sounds so mean. i think deep down i dont want to get imbarased by him and then have to hear all the $hit talking afterwards. lol

Thats awesome, our cars actually keep up pretty well with stock e46 M3's too, from a 45mph roll in 3rd gear I was only behind like 2 feet. Who cares about the srt-4, its still a neon!!!!

Lol, neon’s do suck. I bet people who own a srt-4 would also agree with us. Good run with the m3. Just a little note if you are under 70mph. keeps the car in 2nd. Funny you say that cause just last night I had one pull up next to me, gave me this wannabe hard-ass look and it looked stock so I thought I would put him in his place. It appeared stock. Well he walked all over me then as he sees me pulling off to pull into my driveway he shoots the middle finger at me, maybe thinking I gave up or something. wtf? Real mature.

Supras have a straight 6. Many tuners and drag racers prefer 1 large turbo to 2 smaller ones. Massive power, but usually massive turbo-lag too.

Yes I do know the Supra's engine - 2JzFE one of the best engines ever created in IMO.

I was just shocked to hear he beat a supra turbo but it was a late 80's and not a 3rd gen.

Since it was almost a dead stop he couldnt get any traction at all, by the time I would get the the end of 2nd gear I would be like 8 car lengths ahead of him. It was a really cold night too, so his tires wouldnt stop spinning.

A b6/7 s4 will not "kill" or take down any evo MR , evo 8, modern ferrari(lol), or single turbo supra ( even the old gen) UNLESS any of the above cars are experiencing some type of mechanical problem or driver error

A stage 3 s4, thats running correctly , will make the b6 s4 look like its standing still..

its just how it is, its nothing personal, look at my old posts, I used to own a b6 s4 and was in this section forever, waiting on that dam supercharger that never came

I underestimated the thrill of a fster car, and sold the b6, I just couldnt stand getting tooled by so many other cars. But hey , the b6 s4 is a wonderful car, and feels great inside!

Ive had a few pulls with a stock b5 s4, and it was pretty even. I greatly respect the b5 s4, i chose the b7 s4 for its interior and safety, not to be racing people all the time. If I wanted something fast I would have gone out and bought two b5 s4's and have done stage 3+ on one of them for the money I spent for my b7.
