D1S adapter for D2S bulbs. This is for those doing HIDs the right way.

    Observe the following photo:

From left to right, you see a D1S bulb, another D1S bulb, and a D2S bulb attached to a universal igniter that some here on AZ may be familiar with...
For those that appreciate the difference between crappy Chinese HID kits and OEM quality components, D1S is the only choice because that universal
igniter that would allow use of much less expensive and widely available D2S bulbs is a bitch to fit without modifications, or in case of BiXenon OEM
housings, it just doesn't fit at all. However...

As as you see, the second D1S bulb is really also a D2S with an adapter, but the right kind, that we can use in OEM HID installations that opens the
door to a much winder choice of bulbs that cost peanuts compared to genuine Philips/Osram D1S bulbs, especially the 5000K kind. Yes, you may find
D1S bulbs for less than 80$ a pair, but those are shitty Chinese bulbs that do not use quartz glass and fade much faster than the real German made article.

I personally like to use a different temperature bulbs in winter as opposed to summer, and the ability to use D2S bulbs like the 2800K ones I like for winter,
is greatly appreciated. Not to mention, separating the igniter from the bulb means when the bulb fails, I don't have to throw away a perfectly good igniter,
or the opposite, a working bulb with a bad igniter...

A pair of these igniters costs 130$ and they're warrantied for 5 years. http://www.xevision.com/hid_products.html

Nope, these are special adapters. A normal d1s bulb will not come apart like that. So you would have to buy both the adapters and the bulbs.
