Color of Vehicle: Brilliant Red

 

In looking over the Featured AZ'er articles these past few months, you might think we're biased towards the color red. Let me assure you, it's not intentional. As they say, red cars are "ticket magnets". This perhaps relates here as well, because red cars just naturally stand out from the crowd. They get you noticed. Sometimes in bad ways, and in this case (we like to think) good ways too. But there's definitely one way that this month's Featured AZ'er is different from the previous four red Audis we've featured, and no it's not because it's the first red B7 to get the nod. This month we feature our very first female AZ'er. Her name is Marissa (or redhott06 as you may know her if you're a regular in the B7 A4 Forum) and we're proud to feature her and her Brilliant Red 2.0T sedan for the month of October.

If you didn't know Marissa, or hadn't seen any photos of her car, you might think this was a pity article. You could be inclined to think that we grasped for any sign of an extra X chromosome that we could find, simply to show we're an equal opportunity community. Sure there are very few female enthusiasts within the automotive world, but there are even fewer with cars anything like this. Marissa wasn't chosen because she's a girl who happens to mod, she was chosen because she mods and she just happens to be a girl. It's quite apparent from looking over the following mod list, or from a quick glance through the photo gallery, that she's been bit hard by the "Mod Bug". The car both acts the part and looks the part, with a tasteful and well executed mix of show and go.

Boosting up the looks of the car, Marissa's gone with a number of OEM plus parts. There's a black-out RS 4 grille, Seat Leon Cupra front splitter, and DTM sides. For the engine side of things, there's a Racetec front mount at the nose, Revo tuning for the brain, and a Brittalman exhaust at the tail. But the pièce de résistance (pardon my French) of the car might just be the wheels. In fact they're Marissa's favorite mod. She didn't skimp anywhere on the car, and that's especially true of the wheels. She chose to go with nineteen inch BBS RS-GTs, red center caps and all. It's encouraging to see more and more females joining the scene, especially when they're producing cars such as this one. It's certainly apparent that women can pull of red just as well as - if not better than - most men.
